Dr. Peter Reinke

Tunnelling & Aerodynamics 

Dr. Peter Reinke is Senior Expert for Tunnelling and Aerodynamics at HBI Haerter AG in Berne, Switzerland and is senior member of the Advisory Board of SwissRapide AG. His extensive academic path took him through the University of Braunschweig in Germany and University of Waterloo in Canada. He successfully obtained his doctorate degree at the Swiss Federal Technical University in Zurich (ETH). 

 

Dr. Reinke is a recognised industry expert in railway aerodynamics, climate, ventilation, safety and mechanical equipment of tunnels worldwide. A few of the highlights in his professional career include:

 

  • Leader of the working group for aerodynamics, climate, ventilation and safety for the Gotthard AlpTransit Base Tunnel Project in Switzerland, the longest railway tunnel in the world.
  • Leader of the working group for aerodynamics, climate, ventilation and safety for the Loetschberg and Ceneri Base Tunnel Projects in Switzerland.
  • Developed the tunnel ventilation concepts for the Metro Panama Line 1 for Panama City; the Doha Metro Phase 1 in Qatar, with operations planned to start in 2019; the Stuttgart 21 Project in Germany and the California Highspeed Rail Project (Palmdale-Burbank), USA.

In 2009, Dr. Reinke is joined the Advisory Board of SwissRapide AG and has been actively supporting the company with his knowledge and expertise since then.
