Franklin E. Porath

Franklin E. Porath, AB, MA, MAI, is the North American representative of Swiss Railway Engineering SRE GmbH, and is a member of the SwissRapide Advisory Board.

 

He studied at Oberlin College, Case Western Reserve University, the United States Air Force Air College, and other institutions. He was the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (the astronaut's professional society) featured convention speaker in 2001 and has presented fourteen forums at the Experimental Aircraft Association conventions.

 

He was part of the first US Department of Commerce trade mission to the former Soviet Republic of Mongolia. He received the General Electric Outstanding Achievement Award, the INC Magazine 500 Award, and was on the Underwriters Laboratories Technical Standards Advisory Council.

 

For ten years at the Ohio Aerospace Institute at the NASA Glenn Research Center he managed Mars and Venus exploration projects, bio-medical research, and national air transportation programs. He founded satellite paging and consumer electronics companies.

 

He recently returned to the US from Europe, where he had worked with the Alp-Gotthard mega-tunnel railway project and was a founding member of Swiss Railway Engineering.
